Superior Mayor Jim Paine delivered the state of the city address Friday night at the Richard I. Bong veterans historical center.

After six years in office, his address highlighted a variety of positive things happening in Superior…a growing tax base, new investments in housing, environmentally friendly shopping and parks.

Mayor Paine also commended Superior city councilors for what he called their forward-thinking contributions.

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen a council with this much vision. I’m hearing new ideas for parks, neighborhoods and business districts, for our environment and our economy to bring this city alive with arts and culture and history. I think these are the ideas that got you elected and reelected, and I don’t think your neighbors will settle for the status quo anymore” Paine said.

Mayor Paine said moving forward he remains committed to building a Superior with streets and districts that benefit the people that live there and not just the traffic.
