Tom Dalbec just retired from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in January. He lead the office as sheriff for 20 years.

His first years, he tackled the move from the old building to the current one.

On Friday, in front of a small crowd, he received a legislative citation from state lawmakers for his service.

Dalbec spoke briefly, crediting the rest of the employees for making things run smoothly.

The citation was signed by State Senator Romaine Quinn, Senators Chris Kapenga and Michael Queensland, and Representatives Angie Sapik and Chanz Green.

Congressman Tom Tiffany’s office also presented him with two flags.
