Some of the best cross country skiers in the world are in Duluth for the SuperTour Final and National Championships.

Race organizers are thrilled to have the event here, even with the stress of a snowless winter.

“It gave us a challenge, but the crew at Spirit Mountain really pulled through,” Gary Larson, the Chief of Competition told us. “They pushed the snow down from the alpine runs, and made the loop. Last night we groomed early, and with the temperatures, it’s terrific today.”

For the St. Scholastica ski team, it was fun to have such a high caliber race on their home practice loop.

Thursday was the 10km Classic. There are races Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday. People are coming in from around the country.
