Organizers of the Sand Lake Shuffle are excited the event is returning for the first time since the pandemic started.
It has a new location this time though, at Olcott Park in Virginia.
The fundraiser supports cancer patients and survivors and their families on the Range.
Greg Ranta and Rose Adams joined teams about 20 years ago. Now they are part of the committee. And it’s become more personal now, as they’ve both lost parents to cancer.
“It’s not a club you want to join, but once you’re in, it’s nice to have the support and feel like you can be with people who can empathize with you,” Adams said.
Care Partners is a big recipient of the funds raised at the shuffle.
The fun starts at 4pm on Friday. The spaghetti dinner goes from 4-7pm. Then there’s a ceremony and survivor lap and walk at 7pm.
