Remembering Buddy Holly through tribute concert fundraiser

Duluth residents were invited to Clyde Iron Works for the 2024 Buddy Holly Tribute concert on Sunday night. With WDIO’s Darren Danielson as the guest Master of Ceremonies, attendees were treated to a night of music and dancing on the 65th anniversary of the Armory’s Winter Dance Party. The event hosted Todd Eckart and his band as they performed classics by Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, The Big Bopper and more hit makers of the late 1950s. Guests also got the chance to hear Born Too Late as the opening act for the evening.

The event also served as a fundraiser to support the Historic Armory Arts and Music Center where Buddy and the crew performed during the Winter Dance Party days before the tragic plane crash.
