Just north of Duluth, off Highway 53, Red Pine Campground is helping so many people enjoy the Northland.

Josh and Amanda Hansen bought the business in 2020, and have steadily made improvements since then, like high speed internet and Culligan soft water.

“The pergola is new this year, and the GaGa ball pit for the kids,” Josh told us.

Amanda said, “We added 10 new sites this year, with power and water hookups, that are more rustic and private.”

On Thursday, they had Fairhaven Farm come with their pizza trailer for a Pizza in the Park event.

John Beaton, co-owner of the farm, told us that the pizza farm concept is successful around the country and they are excited about bringing it to the Northland.

“It’s a way to diversify. We make our own sauce. We use our own veggies and source from other farms,” he explained.

His wife and co-owner Emily added, “We’ve been working on this for a long time. So we are really excited to see it coming together. Our vision for the farm was always to be a gathering place.”

The Pizza in the Park event goes through 8pm on Thursday.
