Proposed Street Preservation Locations
Mayor Emily Larson has announced plans for 2024’s road work projects. Larson says $8 million will come from the dedicated sales tax, $2 million will come from savings from years prior and $4 million would come from the city’s general reserve fund.
In Mayor Larson’s budget proposal in August, she said they will try to cover 50 miles of Duluth roads over the next three years. This year they covered 14 and in 2024 Larson says they are planning for 19-20 miles.

City Engineer, Cindy Voigt says that they are trying to cluster neighborhoods together so that traffic congestion is eased and crews can work more effectively.
Thursday there will be a meeting open to the public regarding streets. There is a virtual meeting from Noon to 1pm and then an in-person meeting from 6pm to 7pm at City Hall in room 330.
