The season of road construction is nearly here. And MnDOT leaders shared more about what you can expect in our region. There are nearly two dozen projects totaling $80 million dollars.

There will be three sections of I-35 that will be getting work done, including the tunnels in Duluth, from Mesaba to 21st Avenue East.

Then there’s the Atkinson Bridge project in Carlton County, over Highway 61.

And then there’s the concrete pavement resurfacing near Hinckley.

Other major projects include pavement on Highway 169 from Mt. Iron to Chisholm, and Highway 2 before and after Floodwood.

You’re encouraged to slow down and follow the work zone speed limits.

A separate update about the Twin Ports Interchange project will be coming later.
