Pine Co. Sheriff’s deputies shoot, injure felony warrant suspect

Pine County Sheriff’s deputies reportedly shot and injured a felony warrant suspect Tuesday afternoon.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating what happened just before 2 p.m. Tuesday in Pine City. They say the deputies were trying to arrest a man with a felony warrant.

“At one point, deputies fired their service weapons, striking and injuring the subject,” a BCA press release said.

The BCA says deputies gave medical treatment on the scene until the man was taken to a hospital. He is in critical condition, according to authorities.

The BCA says the deputies were wearing body cameras, and the investigation is “still in the early stages.”
