Northern Waters Smokehaus and Zenith Bookstore celebrated the release of the Northern Waters Smokehaus’ new cookbook, Smoke on the Waterfront on Thursday evening.

Northern Waters Smokehaus and Zenith Bookstore celebrated the release of the Northern Waters Smokehaus’ new cookbook, Smoke on the Waterfront on Thursday evening. The event featured charcuterie from the Smokehaus, drinks, and live music from the Duluth Jazz Collective. Guests were able to experience the new location of Northern Waters, which can be found on the lower level of the Dewitt Seitz building in Canal Park. Those who attended could also talk to the book’s authors and receive signed copies of the new cookbook.

The book features two decades of unique stories, experiences, recipes, and techniques as told by current and former employees. Readers can enjoy content ranging from sandwich recipes from the Smokehaus menu to food preservation. Co-author Mary Tennis said the book took three years to complete and the feeling of seeing it on shelves is surreal. “There’s a lot of moving parts. I mean, we worked really hard on it and it’s something we’re all really proud of”, said Tennis. “To see it come to light and hold it in our hands is, I think, fantastic. I feel really lucky.”

Smoke on the Waterfront is available to purchase at the Zenith Bookstore as well as online.
