Murder suspect arrested in Duluth

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office reported that Justin Dean Stauffer, 41, was arrested on Wednesday, February 7 near the 200 block of Common wealth Ave. in Duluth on active warrants for 3rd degree murder, felon in possession of a firearm, and drug possession.

Stauffer had been charged last year with the 3rd degree murder of Timothy Baker for the sale of a controlled substance that led to Baker’s death on or about March 8, 2023.

He has 18 open cases in St. Louis County.

According to the Sheriff’s office, Stauffer was uncooperative upon initial contact with officers, however members of the LSVOTF were able to detain Stauffer without incident.

Stauffer was booked into the St. Louis County Jail on his warrants and is being held without bail.
