Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in America right now. And now northern Minnesota has another court for people to enjoy.

The Moose Lake Township unveiled its new court today at Ohlgren Park. The courts are part of a bigger project that the township is planning.

While speaking with pickleball players, they explained why the sport is so popular. President of the Moose Lake Pickleball Club, Tim Caroline says its a great way for people of all ages to connect. Nancy Bennett says her grandkids love when they come over and they head to the pickleball courts.

We also spoke to some young adults. Phoebe Applegate says she is glad to have met all the nice people she has, but says she wishes more young adults would come out and play.

All three told us that they play pickleball because its a really fun way to stay active.

When the club first began, Caroline says there was a strong 15 members, but now there is over 40 and he says this is only the beginning.

The courts will allow for more people to join the club as well. Previously, Caroline says they had to make DIY courts to play on in the hockey arena.

Caroline says the courts will be open seven days a week. If you are in need of someone to play with, Caroline mentioned that there is open play pickleball for anyone to attend on Monday mornings and Thursday evenings.
