Pete Johnson, who is running for State Representative in Minnesota’s House District 8A, held an official campaign kickoff event at the Harrison Community Club in Lincoln Park on Saturday morning. The campaign kickoff event served as an opportunity for community members to meet Pete, hear his vision for the future of House District 8A, and learn how they can get involved in supporting his campaign.

“I think especially in recent times, politics have gotten so divided where it seems like you’re in separate camps and there’s an unwillingness to work with one another even on the things that you agree on,” said Johnson. “I’d like to be more of that consensus builder figuring out how we get two groups to work together.”

Pete Johnson was born and raised in Two Harbors and has been a firefighter in the Duluth area for two decades. According to Johnson’s campaign team, he brings a wealth of experience and a passion for serving his community to his campaign for the Minnesota Legislature. With a focus on representing the voices of all constituents in House District 8A, Johnson and his team say he is committed to fighting for access to housing, affordable healthcare, and economic opportunity for everyone.
