Member of U.S. Navy Leap Frogs injured at Duluth Airshow

A member of the U.S. Navy Leap Frogs was injured upon landing during a performance at Saturday’s Duluth Air and Aviation Expo.

According to a press release, the member was immediately tended to by emergency personnel. Lifeflight by Lifelink3 transported the injured member to Essentia Health/St. Mary’s.

The member is in stable condition and is being treated for his injuries. The Leap Frog parachute team will not be participating in Sunday’s Airshow. An official accident investigation will be conducted.

“We are devastated that one of the performers was injured and our thoughts and prayers are with him, his team and his family,” said Ryan Kern, Duluth Airshow President. “Our safety and leadership team has an incident plan in place, everyone reacted instantly, and we were able to render care immediately. “

The Duluth Air and Aviation Expo will continue Sunday as planned.
