Mom and 2 daughters lose their dog in Lincoln Park house fire

Sunday, The Duluth Fire Department was sent to respond to a fire in a two-story home in the Lincoln Park neighborhood at 6:46am.

According to fire crews there were two family members, of a family of three, and several pets in the house at the time of the fire.

When crews arrived they reported heavy smoke coming out of both the attic and the second story. After going inside they reported heavy fire in the stairway leading up to the upstairs bedrooms.

By the time the next fire crews from the Headquarters station arrived, the three family members had been brought to safety along with three of their dogs.

Sadly one of the family’s dogs was killed in the fire. And two of their cats are missing as well, however they might have escaped the blaze.

The family is being assisted by neighbors and the Red Cross as they are now displaced from their home. Damages are around $150,000.
