Isanti County Deputy helps rescue a bear cub from traffic

Sunday, Isanti County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Damion Kosmosky and a Good Smartian in Stanchfield Township rescued a bear cub from traffic on Highway 65.

After its rescue they were able to reunite it with its mother and another cub in a wooded area away from the highway.

Even though this incident ended positively the Sheriff’s Office does not recommend residents to handle wild animals.

They also say that bear sightings continue to occur across the county and in the city of Cambridge. They encourage residents to bring in bird feeders and to keep trash contained and off the curb until garbage day.
