Grand Marais named America’s ‘Best Small Lake Town’ by Travel + Leisure

Grand Marais is the only Minnesota small town to be listed in Travel + Leisure’s first ever list of America’s Best Small Towns.

The list ranks some of America’s best small towns with categories like: Small Beach Town, Small Desert Town, and more. Grand Marais was recognized as Best Small Lake Town.

With the recent praise from the New York publication, many are excited for what’s to come.

Visit Cook County’s Marketing and Public Relations Director, Kjersti Vick, hopes more people will be checking out the town now that it was featured in Travel + Leisure.

“That’s what’s really exciting about this,” says Kjersti, “it really gives a lot of exposure to people who might not otherwise know about our area. Minnesota has new people moving to it all the time and they’re always looking for new parts of the state to explore and discover.”
