Former Duluth City Councilor Barb Russ has died

Former Duluth City Councilor Barb Russ has died at age 74, her family says.

She served on the Duluth City Council for 5.5 years before resigning in 2020 due to health issues.

A press release says she died of natural causes.

Her husband, Neil Glazman, described her as a “passionate woman.”

“She always looked out for others and worked hard to create policies that served our community’s homeless and underprivileged members. She was proud of the impacts she made as a St. Louis County attorney, a Duluth City Councilor, and board member for several organizations,” Glazman said in a statement. “She was a fierce advocate for others and would want to be remembered that way.”

Russ’ family will share details about a celebration of life later and are asking for privacy in the meantime.
