High waters close roads in Wisconsin

Flooding issues continue around the Northland, and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation has closed a road in Ashland County.

WIS 169 is temporarily closed to through traffic from WIS 13/77 in Mellen to US 2 just over the Ashland-Iron County line.

WIS 35 North at Carlson Road/Summit Trail in Chaffey in Douglas County. Both are currently still passable, but drivers should use caution.

The North and Southbound lanes are closed on HWY 40 from CTH D to Cemetery RD in Sawyer County

As warm temperatures continue, more flooding might occur as snow melts. If motorists encounter flooded roadways, turn around and don’t attempt to drive through water.
