Family pets lost in Parkland house fire

Multiple family pets perished in Tuesday’s house fire in Parkland, Wisconsin.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says the family was not at home when the fire started. A large plume of smoke could be seen for miles, with crews on scene before 2:00pm.

The fire happened on the 6200 block of Way Road. Fire crews from from Parkland, the Town of Superior, Amnicon, Lakeside, Oakland, Hawthorne all responded, along with the Wisconsin State Patrol and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

The family has been put in contact with Red Cross for support.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and is unknown at this time.
