Washburn, Wisconsin is rich with people invested in performance art. And the Stage North theater is proud to house that talent.

The entire building was built from scratch with the full intention to bring theatre to Washburn. That includes the bell tower with a bell that rings every time a show it about to start.

The main theatre company that occupies Stage North’s space is known as The Groundlings. They originated in 2009 offing theatre camps to kids, and now they’re producing plays every month during their season.

The Groundlings are getting ready to open their production of Steel Magnolias, opening October 12th. To find out more information on Steel Magnolia tickets you can click here.

Liz Woodworth, a Groundlings board member, says working with the talent on the south shore is awesome.

“We’ve known for a long time that part of the reason people love to come to the Chequamegon Bay is because there’s so many performers in this area. Certainly musicians, poets, singer songwriters, but there’s so many actors as well. We are very fortunate.”
