Event, business cancellations due to winter storm

The winter storm has taken over the Northland and is expected to continue into Friday. There are many area events being canceled or rescheduled. This list will be updated as additional closures or cancellations come in. If you would like your event added to the list, please email news@wdio.com.

Thursday, December 15

  • Arrowhead Library System’s Bookmobile route is canceled Thursday. (Cloverdale, Togo, Rauch, Bear River, Side Lake) You can call the ALS office at 218-741-3840 if you have any questions. All items that were checked out at these stops for the previous date will be renewed until the next stop which is Thursday, January 5, 2023.
  • Arrowhead Printing closed on Thursday
  • All sites for Ashland County Meals on Wheels will be closed Thursday. There will be no meals in sites or home-delivered and no transportation rides.
  • Bentleyville will not turn on the lights Thursday night
  • Duluth CareerForce closed, programming canceled
  • Duluth Public Library locations closed
  • Duluth Housing Redevelopment Authority (HRA) will be closed Thursday
  • Downtown Duluth YMCA is closed
  • Eversmiles Pediatric Dentistry closed Thursday
  • Glensheen Mansion will be closed
  • Grand Rapids Moose Lodge 2023 closed
  • Human Development Center (HDC) offices will be closed
  • Lake Superior Dental is closed for all four locations – Duluth, Hermantown, Two Harbors, Cloquet.
  • Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center closed
  • The Minnesota Discovery Center will be closed
  • Meals on Wheels in Grand Rapids will be closed Thursday
  • Motion Therapy will be closed today at both locations
  • Northland Machine, Inc. in Grand Rapids closed
  • The Occupational Development Center in Grand Rapids will be closed
  • Piedmont Dental will be closed
  • Ruby’s Pantry-Coppertop has been rescheduled for Thursday December 22nd
  • Salvation Army office in Duluth is closed, and the kettles will not be out. Rookie Basketball is also canceled.
  • Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank is closed Thursday
  • Second Harvest Northern lakes Food Bank Mobile Food Pantry in Cloquet is canceled
  • Superior Public Library and branches will be closed
  • Two Harbors Public Library is closed
  • YMCA at the Essentia Wellness Center closed
