The first annual Unity in Our Community event is designed to welcome back all the people who are part of ISD 709 in Duluth.

Superintendent John Magas said it was an idea by the Assistant Superintendent Anthony Bonds.

Magas said, “We think it’s incredibly important for all to come together to celebrate our schools as one district and one community, and bring us all together to celebrate education which is important to all of us. It’s going to be great.”

The school district is planning this big bash, which includes free food, bouncy houses, food trucks, a dunk tank, and 60 organizations providing resources and goodies.

It’s on Monday from 4-7pm at Bayfront. Parking is free, and there will be bus hubs.
