Duluth Fiber Arts Guild is celebrated in new art show

The University of Minnesota Duluth’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences and Tweed Museum of Art announced the exhibition “The Duluth Fiber Handcrafters Guild: Janet Meany and 50 years of Fiber Art,” with an opening reception on Tuesday.

The show will focus on the work of guild founder and world-renowned weaving expert Janet Meany. In addition to Meany’s work, there will be an exhibition of contemporary and historical work by other guild members.

A number of hands-on projects will also be included with the exhibition. The first Saturday of every month will have volunteer-led tours by members of the Duluth Fiber Guild. In addition, two free family days will be hosted for community members to enjoy the art. The exhibit will be running through May 21, 2023.
