MN DNR provides update about 2023 deer season

The firearms opener is just three months away. And the DNR wants you to be prepared. Agency leaders provided their outlook for the 2023 season on Tuesday.

The harsh winter means that the bag limits have been lowered or maintained for portions of northern Minnesota.

There is an interactive map that can show you your deer permit area specifics: https://www.dnr.state.mn.us/hunting/deer/map.html

Other notable changes include crossbow are now allowed for everyone during archery season, and blaze orange is required on ground blinds used on public land. Plus, members of a hunting party may not tag a legal buck or anter-less deer for any member of their party hunting with a youth license.
