Today, The Shops at Enger Lofts, which is made up of six retail businesses including: Little Neechers, Goat Hill Marketplace, Liila Boutique, Ren Market, 190 Coffee and Tea, and North and Shore, hosted Deck the Halls at Enger Lofts. The event has folks enjoying live music, drinking hot cocoa, meeting sled dogs as well as shopping local artisan markets. It is the first time the hotel chain hosted this event and they were happy about the community involvement.

“It’s such a treat to see so many people here. It’s kind of the spirit of the building that it’d be like a communal place where people can come and celebrate any season. And the snow here makes it so cozy in the winter time. It’s just like a perfect winter celebration,” says Rose Hale, Manager of Enger Hotel and Enger Office.

Although we are in the holiday season, inflation and economic prices are a grim reality for many families. However, the event today was packed as people shopped for local goods.

“It’s really sweet that so many local makers came out and we had an event last weekend or two weekends ago and they sold out. A lot of makers sold out, and that was really encouraging for them. And the local shops here decided to do a giveaway fundraiser for the local middle school and a food shop there. It’s our first year and we’ve been open as a building for less than a year, but still, like, so fresh. And it feels really sweet to see it becoming a community centered space,” finishes Hale.

There also was a donation drive benefiting the Lincoln Park Middle School pantry. Folks who brought an item were entered into a prize drawing featuring items from the shops. Keep an eye out to see Deck The Halls again next year at Enger Lofts.
