A new garage is going up in the Piedmont neighborhood. And the construction crew is made up of high school students from Duluth Denfeld and East in the Construction Technology class.

First, second, and third year students are learning hands-on skills and other trades in the business.

Tony Leone is the instructor on site. “I’m really happy. These are good students, good listeners. We try and tell them about the real world. Zero degrees or 70 above.”

He really emphasizes safety as well.

The homeowner gave it a good start, and the students will likely finish it up in the next few weeks.

They will be done with this garage in a few weeks, and then move on to another project.
