Students had the chance to smooth cement and wire circuits on Wednesday, at day one of Construct Tomorrow.

This event started in 2013, and has given countless kids a chance to try the trades.

City and workforce development leaders praised the continued movement to inform students about the opportunities.

And the public can come out as well during Duluth Construction Career Night. It will be held from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm Wednesday in Edmund Fitzgerald Hall and DECC Arena at the DECC.

This is an opportunity for anyone interested in a building and construction trade careers to meet with representatives of local union apprenticeship programs, interact with contractors who are hiring, and try out some of the tools and skills that are part of the Union Apprenticeship jobs in construction.

Parking will be free for those attending the event
