Green New Deal Housing is proud to have their first Net-Zero Energy pilot project up for sale.

“Having a family live here will be a dream come true,” shared Stacie Renne, Outreach Coordinator for Green New Deal Housing.

The nearly 1500 square foot, 3BR/2BA home is in the Harbor Highlands neighborhood in Duluth.

It’s an all electric, solar-powered home with an energy efficient heat pump, triple glazed windows, and EnergyStar appliances. “People won’t have energy bills to deal with,” Renne added.

The price is $360,000, no bargaining. But the goal is to help get families into housing like this who may have thought it was unattainable.

There is down payment assistance, subsidy and special financing packages available for qualified applicants.

“This is a great intersection of clean energy and housing, two things that are extremely important right now. This house accomplished both of those things,” Renne told us.

There are open houses on Saturday and Sunday, from 1-3pm. 110 E 11th Street, Duluth.

Green New Deal Housing is taking applications through August 31st, and plans on selecting the homeowner on September 1st. To make it fair and equitable, it will be a lottery system.

And the non-profit is already planning ahead to their next builds in the Irving neighborhood.

Projects like this are also great for workforce development, and sharing the latest building methods with tradesmen and women.
