Chester Bowl open for the season; volunteers happy to be back

Chester Bowl has officially opened their slopes for skiing and snowboarding.

With a pretty snowless December it’s been a lot of work to get the hill open.

Dave Schaeffer, the Executive Director of the Chester Bowl Improvement Club says, “The weather has been especially challenging this season, and the only reason we are able to open is because
of the hard work of our snowmaking team, consisting of City of Duluth staff, Chester Bowl volunteers,
and Chester Bowl staff. We spent twelve days making snow so far, with more to come in the New Year,
with staff and volunteers here 24/7 during snowmaking. We are so grateful for this team!”
