Chester Bowl announces their opening day

The Chester Bowl Improvement Club announced that they will open their ski and snowboard program for the season at 4:30p.m. on Thursday, December 21st. The hill will be open until 8:30p.m. that night.

Chester Bowl is excited to finally be at opening day! Executive Director Dave Schaeffer says, “The weather has been especially challenging this season, and the only reason we are able to open is because of the hard work of our snowmaking team, consisting of City of Duluth staff, Chester Bowl volunteers, and Chester Bowl staff. We spent twelve days making snow so far, with more to come in the New Year, with staff and volunteers here 24/7 during snowmaking. We are so grateful for this team!”

Chester Bowl will also be open Friday, December 22nd and Saturday, December 23rd from 11a.m. to 4:30p.m. They will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day but will reopen on December 26th.

Chester Bowl provides a family friendly, positive environment with affordable prices, and is a hill right in town with surprising variations and challenges. Known for its volunteer-driven model and strong community atmosphere, Chester Bowl has taught thousands of Duluthians how to ski and snowboard in a positive and safe environment.
