Cloquet CDL class tours Minnesota State Patrol weigh station in Saginaw

The CDL class from Cloquet High School learned how inspections are done, and what to look for to keep the roads safe.

A fun morning field trip for the CDL class from Cloquet High School. They spent time at the Minnesota State Patrol weigh station in Saginaw.

There, commercial vehicle inspectors helped show them how inspections are done, and what they look for to keep our roads safe.

School leaders are grateful for the support of the State Patrol. Assistant CDL instructor Tim Prosen said, “They’ve been to the school twice. And the kids are excited to be out here, this is our second weigh station.”

The class just started in the fall. Cloquet believes they are the first in the state to offer this. It’s done in partnership with Upper Lakes Foods.

“It’s going great. Our students are excelling. And we are even ahead of schedule,” shared Bret Gunderson, the CDL instructor.
