Bridging the gap in Superior schools

The School District of Superior’s Transition program held their 4th annual Bridging the Gap event Wednesday night. Students, parents and community members were invited to the Lake Superior Estuarium to identify gaps and needs to improve the outcomes for recent graduates with disabilities.

This year, the focus was on identifying ways that community members can work with the school to help students with disabilities be prepared for their life beyond graduation. Organizers of the event said meetings like these are important because they offer different perspectives so that families and individuals with disabilities are able to share their stories and see what improvements can be made in our community.
