Danette Carpenter has been living with ovarian cancer for over a year now.

And the Side Lake wife and mother of four said she’s feeling better now than she did before the diagnosis.

“I don’t have the numbers to my days. Only God does. But I do know that I can choose what kind of day each one is, going forward,” she said. “Living life and being able to be present is more important than the number. I’m hoping the number will be great too. And each one is a blessing.”

She continues to work with alternative medicine options for her care.

She’s also grateful for all the support she and her family have been feeling through this journey.

“It’s been super helpful along the way. Just incredible,” she said.

Come to the benefit for her on Saturday, at the Chisholm Sports Arena. It’s a cornhole tournament, with silent auction, raffle, and food available. Doors open at 12pm.
