Bemidji man pleads guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine

A Bemidji man has pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

According to the guilty plea and court documents, law enforcement had observed the 30-year-old man meet with a suspected drug trafficker in the metro area.

Officers stopped the vehicle the Bemidji man was in as he was driving back to northern Minnesota, in which he was the passenger.

They had the man exit the vehicle and found a plastic bag with approximately one pound of methamphetamine in the front passenger floorboards. Officers also seized a .22 caliber “pen” gun from the passenger compartment.

He then pleaded guilty on February 24, 2023, in U.S. District Court to one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

A sentencing has not been scheduled yet.
