The fall season is winding down for the Rainy River Voyageur baseball team. But on Saturday, three of their players made quite the save, off the field.

Ian Becker, Mathias Talarico, and Kaleb Hubble were headed to Bemidji that evening when they saw a woman in the middle of the road.

“As we got closer, we saw a car in the ditch, and it was on fire. The lady explained that her handicapped husband was trapped and she couldn’t get him out. So we rushed out of the car and helped him,” Mathias explained.

Instinct took over.

“We definitely had to stop and save those people. We didn’t really think about it. We just did it,” Ian added.

They feel now it was almost like being in a movie. It didn’t feel real.

“It was intense. At first it was like, shock. And everything kicked in, that we had a job to do and we gotta help this guy,” added Kaleb.

They also waited till first responders showed up, before heading on their way.

And they are so glad they could lend a hand. “Thank God we were on the road at that time,” Mathias said.

All three men are from out of state. Great save, guys!
