One hospitalized in Duluth bus vs. car crash

Duluth Police, Fire, and Mayo Ambulance responded to a crash involving a car and Duluth Transit Authority (DTA) bus.

It happened around 10:45 a.m. Tuesday on a ramp off Michigan Street near the M&H gas station in Duluth, which closed while authorities responded.

Duluth Police say its initial investigation found that the car was traveling westbound, went into oncoming traffic, and hit the bus head on.

Duluth Firefighters had to extricate driver of the car. They were taken to the hospital with injuries related to the crash.

The people on the bus reportedly received minor injuries.

The Duluth Transit Authority provided WDIO with the following statement regarding the incident:

“There was a collision near the M&H gas station earlier today. Our Safety and Operations Team is collaborating with responding agencies.  We do not have any additional information at this time, as we are focused on gathering information and taking all appropriate measures.”

Police tell us the investigation is active and ongoing.
