A busy start to Duluth Winter Village’s second year on Harbor Drive

Saturday, it was a busy day down behind the DECC as shoppers braced the chilly weather to shop at the Duluth Winter Village which returned to Harbor Drive for its second year.

More than 50 local businesses are set up in festive wooden cabins and in Pioneer Hall with their curated goods for sale. The DECC expects more than 20,000 people will be stopping to check out the village during the two day run.

Lucie Amundsen says, “You can get your Christmas shopping, holiday shopping, done in a way that makes it feel like an event in itself and not just alone on your couch.”

Along with shopping local, some new additions are these new experiences which include: free indoor ice skating both afternoons 2 – 5pm including free skates (limited availability) with live DJs The Crunchy Bunch; outdoor bars providing seasonal drinks and other non-alcoholic beverages; live animals both days; expanded indoor areas at the Yule Hall; a twenty-foot decorated tree; indoor heated family areas from Duluth Mom with diaper changing areas and nursing spaces.
