Saturday marked the beginning of firearm deer hunting season in Minnesota.

And according to Chalstrom’s owner, John Chalstrom, it’s going to be a busy one.

The hunting goods store received their first deer for processing at about 10:00am Saturday morning.

Speaking on the opening weekend John says, “From here it should be a steady stream of animals coming in until about Monday afternoon.”

He mentions that the weather condition’s for the weekend are perfect for hunters. He says it’s not to cold for them and it’s not to hot for when they are moving their harvest.

John Chalstrom says they are preparing for a busy season. “I think it’s going to be [a] very heavy flow. I think we are going to have a lot of people with deer.”

He wants everyone to stay safe this season too. Suggesting everyone wear orange in the woods even if you aren’t out hunting.
