Minnesota State Fair amateur talent competition returns

It’s about time to start rehearsing your act. The annual Minnesota State Fair Amateur Talent contest is just around the corner.

All types of acts are welcome. In total, $20,000 dollars will be divide among first, second, and third place winners among three age divisions: Open Division (any age), Teen Division (ages 13-18) and Preteen Division (ages 12 and under).

Here’s some dates you need to know:

Registration runs now through July 27th.

Auditions go from Monday, July 25th through Sunday, the 31st at the Leinie Lodge Bandshell Bandshell.

Then there will be a semi finals round with 30 preteen division acts, 42 teen division acts, and 48 open division acts.

The finals will take place at the Grandstand on September 4th on the the last Sunday of the State Fair. The fianls are open to the public and are free to attend.
