Fatal crash in Dunn County, Wisconsin

At 12:49 pm Sunday, a crash occurred on Highway 25 near Northline Road in Dunn County. The crash was near Menomonie and resulted in one fatality and one person injured.

According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, the preliminary investigation shows that a pickup truck travelling southbound on Highway 25 pulled into the northbound lanes to pass a vehicle. The truck drove head-on into a passenger car that was traveling northbound.

As a result of the crash, the driver of the passenger car was fatally injured. The name is being withheld pending family notification, but it was a man, 57, from Boyceville.

The driver of the pickup truck, a woman from Chetek, had minor injuries and was transported to Mayo Clinic-Red Cedar Hospital.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, and no alcohol was involved. The Wisconsin State Patrol is conducting the crash investigation and crash reconstruction.

Assisting agencies included Dunn County Sheriff’s Department, Menomonie Police Department, and Menomonie Fire Department.
