The 2022 Walk to End Alzheimer’s draws in a big crowd

Saturday September 10th a major fundraiser took place down on the shore of Lake Superior.

The 2022 Walk to End Alzheimer’s took place down by the DECC starting at Pioneer Hall. The open ceremony taking place in the afternoon around 2:00pm

Organizers say the walk recruited about 90 teams and 455 participants. Their goal was to raise around $200,000.

Walk Manager Tami Siebert elaborates on who the benefit honors. She says, “In Minnesota alone, there have been 99,000 people diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and they figure about 171,000 care givers that are [also] unpaid.”

And with a big crowd coming out Saturday, a lot of people were connecting over shared experiences with Alzheimer’s

 Siebert says, “We are really proud of people who are coming out and sharing their stories.”
