Superior adds extra $1 million to street maintenance fund

Superior Mayor Jim Paine announced that the the city is adding an extra $1 million to their street maintenance fund. Paine said this almost doubles the annual budget.

Mayor Paine said the the city would focus on making major repairs to Tower Avenue first, but that there should be money left over for a few additional projects.

“Hopefully, that will smooth out the ride in Superior for a few years while we redesign and rebuild more resilient streets,” explained Paine in a social media post.

The Mayor described current road conditions as “rough” and cited two strange winters in a row as contributing to their state.
