St. Urho’s Day celebrated in Finland

In Finland, Minnesota, the community celebrated St. Urho’s Day on Saturday, March 16th.

The celebration highlighted the fictional saint who chased grasshoppers out of Finland and saved the grape vines.

This years celebration included the annual parade, pancake breakfast, and tug-o-war across the Baptism River.

On St. Urho’s Day, it is also custom to where purple and green.
