“This is our first-ever signing day,” shared Deb Kutrieb, Dean of Skilled Trades at Northwood Technical College. “We’re so excited today to be able to provide an opportunity for students in our program to sign a letter of intent that they want to pursue a field in technical education and work in our industries in our region.”

Northwood Technical College’s National Signing Day event was designed to honor students who are entering a technical field, and to celebrate the dignity of work.

“It’s absolutely fantastic to see students that are driven and have a goal in mind at this young age,” shared Kutrieb. “You go into a field as a college student and you think, ‘well, I’m gonna do this one thing.’ And once you get into the field, you find a bunch of opportunities that you didn’t even know existed. And that’s what’s amazing about technical education.”

Incoming students from a variety of careers were invited, including HVAC, automotive, welding, and industrial maintenance.
