Bigfork Valley Hospital votes to increase tax levy
The board of directors at Bigfork Valley Hospital voted on Tuesday to approve a tax levy increase on all property owners in the hospital district. The board said the revenue is needed so the critical care facility and nursing home can continue to take care of patients.
A one million dollar levy was passed. Two larger proposed tax levies were voted down. Board chair, Dr. George Rounds told WDIO news financial losses due to inadequate reimbursement from Medicare and Medicaid as well as tightening of reimbursement by private insurance companies has created a financial imbalance that had to be addressed.
Home owners and business owners who reside in the Bigfork Hospital district will see this tax increase on their 2024 property taxes.
