Crow Wing County nurse charged with stealing pain medication

A Baxter registered nurse faces federal charges for stealing prescription opioids from a hospice clinic where she worked.

According to court documents, Cambie Elizabeth Broker, 33, allegedly entered false prescription requests into the clinic’s e-prescribing software to fraudulently obtain oxycodone, hydromorphone, and fentanyl for illegal sale and personal use.

Broker made her initial appearance Wednesday in U.S. District Court before Magistrate Judge Micko.

This case is the result of an investigation conducted by the DEA and the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Bradley M. Endicott is prosecuting the case.
