Split Rock Lighthouse celebrated its 113th birthday on Friday. There was a “Keeper’s View” anniversary event hosted on the ground to celebrate the lighthouse’s history and to highlight some recent construction projects. Those who attended could take guided tours, watch their original educational film, Tribute to the Age of Steel, enjoy food and drinks and witness the historic lighting of the beacon. Guests could also explore the grounds on their own and view the new exhibit with many new artifacts, including the original construction estimate documents. The night ended with the lighting of the beacon at 9p.m. The Lighthouse is open to explore daily from 10a.m. to 6p.m.
