Friday afternoon the University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) teed off their 35th annual Yellowjackets Alumni & Friends Golf Outing at Nemadji Golf Course in Superior.

The tournament raises funds for the athletics department while bringing old and new Yellowjackets together.

"This event is all about supporting our student athletes and our programs," Athletic Director Nick Bursik said from the course. "All the proceeds we raise today directly benifits our student athletes, which excites our alumni and our friends."

Among those golfing alongside Bursik was head men’s hockey coach Richard McKenna.

"Seeing new alums and all the other sports with everyone getting together, it has been a rough couple of years here so being able to have everyone in one place has been really special," McKenna shared.

Proceeds from the most recent golf outings have gone toward the purchase of skate sharpeners, shooting machines and laundry equipment. They also help with the continuation of the Yellowjacket Athletics branding initiative.
