Yellowjacket women’s hockey tops Saints in unexpected border battle

After both of their scheduled Tuesday night matches were postponed, the College of St. Scholastica (CSS) and University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) women’s hockey team scheduled a last minute bridge battle at Mars Lakeview Arena.

Tessa Jorde scored the sole goal of the game in the second period lifting UWS to the 1-0 victory. McKenzie Whalen earned the shutout making 24 saves.

Saints goaltender Lori Huseby made 43 saves.

UWS (6-5-1) is set to host No. 4 UW-Eau Claire Thursday at 7pm. CSS (6-5-1) is next scheduled to visit the College of Saint Benedict Jan. 21.
